I have been teaching here at Rye Elementary for 23 years. My first year here I was a one-on-one paraprofessional for a first-grader. My second year I was hired as a fourth-grade teacher and taught that grade for 14 years. I thought a change was needed and because my daughter, Cheridan, was also entering first-grade, I thought teaching first-grade would be a great choice. After eight years of teaching first, I decided to take on the challenge of teaching STEAM.

I am currently enrolled in STEAM Certification program with U.S. Satellite Laboratory , Inc. who is partnered with the NASA Endeavor program. I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from professors who work at NASA. It has been such an amazing journey that I can't wait to continue.

I also love spending time with family and friends, playing with my dog, Daya, hiking, gardening, yoga, photography and teaching science.
