I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ALL OF OUR STUDENTS PARTICPATE
IN THE SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM
Children need healthy meals to learn. Rye School District offers healthy meals every school day. For School Year 2021 - 2022 Rye Elementary School and Rye Junior High School will be operating meals under the USDA waiver that allows all students to receive free meals. Thus, for the upcoming school year; lunch costs $0.00 for all.
The Free and Reduced Price Meal application is still important as it is more than just a meal application and the eligibility will carry over for the first 30 operating days of the next school year. A 2nd lunch or additional items must have money on their lunch account at the time of purchase.
Our students have a choice of hot lunch, sandwich of the day or sunflower butter sandwich. Every student must pick a fruit or vegetable.
We encourage taking both.
We have a full salad bar that comes with each meal.
We use vegetables from our school garden. Here is what you will find on our salad bar.
Green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower,
We have a variety of fresh fruits. Watermelon, apples, oranges, grapes, cantaloupe honeydew, kiwi, and strawberries.
Try our homemade hummus, pasta and grain salads.
All of our breads, grains, and pasta are whole wheat.
Students have a choice of milk: 1% white milk
Fat free chocolate milk Please help support our school lunch program!
