Welcome to the Rye School District Counseling Department

The School Counseling Department in the Rye School District is dedicated to supporting the quality of education at our school, by addressing the academic, vocational, and social/emotional needs of all our students.

As school counselors, we work to meet these needs in developmentally appropriate ways that enable personal growth and academic success.

We are accessible to all students.

What Exactly Do We Do?

At any time throughout the school year, School Counselors provide the following services to students and their families:

  • Communicate with students, parents and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.
  • Support and empower students to build confidence and access their various skills.
  • Provide student (and family) support during a personal crisis.
  • Working with students on attendance concerns.
  • Support and coordinate referrals to outside agencies when needed.
  • Develop student career awareness.
  • Provide Individual and group counseling based on needs identified through communication with parents and teachers.
