Hello! My name is Katelyn Caswell and this will be my third year teaching at Rye Elementary School.  I graduated from The University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education as well as a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education.  I have taught in kindergarten and second grade classrooms, and I am so excited to be part of the development of the Pre-K program.  I look forward to creating a meaningful, fun, and transformative experience filled with a lot of growth and joyful memories.  My hope for each child is for them to know that they are capable of whatever they set their mind to, safe to take risks and try new things, loved and accepted for who they are, and welcomed with open arms each and every day

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy playing board games, listening to music, spending quality time with my friends and family, going to the beach, and documenting life through pictures and journaling.  Some of my favorite things are watching the sun rise, the color blue, anything chocolate, and trying new coffee shops.  I have been on 10 service trips to rebuild homes destroyed by natural disasters throughout the country, so I hope to get back to traveling someday soon.

This year will be filled with exploration, learning through play, and growth across all domains (social/emotional, academic, physical, etc.).  I am really looking forward to spending our year together and making this a wonderful experience for your child!
