RES Principal Weekly Updates

Principal Updates for December 12, 2019:

  • Thank you to all for being such a great audience at our Winter Concert on Tuesday night.  The children did a great job.  Thank you for lighting up the room during the first song.  The children were pleasantly surprised.  As one fourth grader said to me the following day, “Mrs. Lull, it was magical when the parents lit their phones.”  Thank you for helping to surprise our singers.
  • Thank you also for making our Spirit Week Fundraiser a success.  So far we have raised over $800.00 and that does not include ice cream tomorrow.  $300.00 was designated to tape me to the wall.  The students were excited to see me suspended in the air and I eventually made it home for dinner.  The Mall in the Hall is today at 1:30.  Feel free to drop by and shop.
  • PTA Announcement:  Next week is our last full week of school before holiday break.  Don't forget to sign up for the staff cookie swap coming up Monday.  Let's show our staff how much we appreciate all they do.  Please see sign up genius for details.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4aa9a62caaf85-ryeelementary1
  • Blizzard Bag Update:  We did it!  RES made 98% on Monday the 2nd, and 96% on the 3rd for our participation rate on Blizzard Bag Day.  Overall the district made 96% and 94%. That is an incredible feat and we appreciate your participation and support. We have met the 80% threshold and will not be making up those two days.
  • Last Chance:  We have so many items in our Lost and Found.   Please check it out over the next week for missing items as during our next break we donate all to a charity.
  • The December School Board Meeting is next Wednesday evening at 5:00.  The meetings always take place at RJH and we invite all to attend. If you cannot make it we do broadcast it live.
  • The RES Environmental Club has finished its second survey and the results are in.  Have we decreased our use of plastics in two short months?  Check the attached results to see.  Thank you to the club for taking on this important work and problem solving ways to reduce our use of plastics.  Plastic at RES.docx
